When the name Linda Ikeji is mentioned, what resonates in the minds of people is the successful media entrepreneur whom with determination is changing the media landscape in Nigeria. Behind every successful life, there is a story to tell which in the beginning of business life every individual who has once been an entrepreneur is afraid to share.

During the Forbes Leading Women Summit which was held in South Africa, Linda Ikeji who is a successful media entrepreneur shared her story on how her entrepreneurial journey began from struggling to a successful one. 

FAILURE

Most at times, when you experience failure, it breaks your thoughts, emotions and zeal to be successful into pieces because your objective has not been accomplished, you begin to ask yourself so many questions like  am I good enough?  Do I deserve to be the best? The negative thoughts floods through your mind making you feel useless that you can never contribute to anything good in the society.

 The most significant advice you need to put at the back of your mind is that, failure is part of success, so when you fail, fail big time because that will encourage you to make tough decisions in your life. If you don’t consider failure as part of your journey, then you will never be successful. I just don’t know how many times she engaged in other businesses but she always failed at it. 

THE BIG SHOT
Trying  your hands with something new, is often considered it to be the big shot, that is considering it to be big boom in your business but it always get messier during this stages on the life of every entrepreneur.

I always call it the last option, you solicit opinions from other people and that is when if you are not lucky and their response are drawing the same conclusions then you are preparing 
yourself for the big furnace.

Linda experienced it, when she tried to get her magazine published, her thoughts on getting her money back in return through sales and advertising failed her. She knew that this was the end of the journey, after taking a loan from the bank to start a business and failing, then she was indeed preparing herself for something bigger.

ACCEPTING FAILURE AND SELF DISCOVERY

As Linda continued to engage the audience at the summit about how she was arrested and later  bailed she said something inspiring ”Never again will money bring so much shame to me” During the summit, she expressed how she was so angry at herself and  the shame she had to go through. 
Sometimes, the thought of you been a loser is when you reach a breaking point, that is when all hope is lost, that is the same moment you need to recollect and research your potential and what you can do when you stumble on the other avenues.

That was the very moment she discovered blogging, which has inspired many young individuals to engage in social media. As time went by, she became so good in blogging and that has made her one of the most successful media entrepreneurs in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

THE BIG PROJECT AFTER SUCCESS

As an entrepreneur, after you have gone through all the hot fire, you become the shiny steel and you don’t want people to go through the kind of trouble you’ve experienced. Linda Ikeji has therefore set up a project called “self-made woman project” that is to help young women to start small scale business and with time it has progressed.

After all this struggles in life, Linda’s story is about determination, perseverance and creating opportunities for yourself as an entrepreneur.

Linda’s dream is one day to compete with Netflix for the African market and definitely she will get to the top. She is a proud mother of one and she is indeed living her dreams.

‘ENCOURAGE MORE WOMEN INTO POLITICS’-FATIMATU ABUBAKAR

The Deputy Communications Director at the Office of the President of Ghana, Fatimatu Abubakar, has advised that more women should be involved in politics for the betterment of national development. She believed that if more women are into politics, there will be a total transformation of women’s progress living in developing countries.
